Our Folklore Exhibition is now open!

Exploring the myths, legends, customs, and stories of East Anglia, the exhibition brings together contemporary art, research, and storytelling to celebrate the region's rich folklore.

We'll be sharing as much of the exhibition as we can here, but with work from over 40 artists, including painting, sculpture, film, textiles, and more, the best way to experience it is in person!

📅 Exhibition dates: Tuesday 2 June – Thursday 11 June
🕙 Opening times: 10am–5pm daily (except the final day, when the galleries close at 2pm)
🌟 Everyone is warmly invited to our Open Evening on Saturday 6 June. We hope you can join us between 5-7pm.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to apply, share their work, and tell us about themselves. We are incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm, support, and creativity shown throughout the process, and we truly appreciated every submission.

AND don't forget we have lots of other folklore-themed events going on over the next 10 days - just head to our website for all the details and to book tickets.

Wondering what to do this Bank Holiday? 🌿

Just a little reminder that we’re OPEN — and our two galleries are bursting with beautiful botanical art, courtesy of the Iceni Botanical Artists. Plus, it’s a bit cooler in the Main Gallery too, making it the perfect place to escape the heat for a little while.

Take your time browsing the galleries and our beautiful shop, stocked full of handcrafted treasures, then treat yourself to something cold and refreshing from our lovely neighbours The Merchant's House while relaxing in the shady courtyard.

Coming very soon to the Anteros galleries...as part of our Folklore Festival, a ten-day exhibition exploring the rich and varied landscape of East Anglia through selected responses to our open call centred around the theme of folklore. We were overwhelmed by the number of submissions and the incredible quality of work received.

Through contemporary art, research, and storytelling, the exhibition invites audiences to discover the myths, legends, customs, and superstitions that have shaped everyday life across the region for generations.

Bringing together over 40 artists from Norfolk and beyond, the exhibition explores how folklore continues to shape cultural identity, collective memory, and our relationship to place. It also considers the deeply personal nature of folklore itself — how stories, beliefs, and traditions evolve through retelling and lived experience. You can see the full list of participating artsits here: https://www.anterosfoundation.com/folklore-open-call

We’d like to thank everyone who applied, shared their work, and told us about themselves. We’re incredibly grateful for the support and passion shown throughout the open call.

Everyone is very welcome at the Open Evening on Saturday 6th June. The exhhibition opens on Tuesday 2nd June.
