‘ONE YEAR ON’
STEW GALLERY, 6th July – 11th July 2015
Entitled ‘One Year On’, this gallery show celebrates the coming together of colleagues, who are former students that studied under the Masters degree programmes at Norwich University of the Arts during 2013/14. To coincide with their celebration and successful Masters graduation in July 2015, these sixteen MA Graduates have come together again
, one year on, from completing their degrees, to show both new and innovative contemporary work. The sixteen exhibiting artists present a distillation of work, representing just a part of their individual ongoing practices. Each artist has approached the development of their practice over the last year in many different ways. This can be seen through the wide array of visual research, styles of approach and mediums to communicate their new ideas within their professional area of work in an experimental way. Each artist defines their practice visually through their own methodology of communication - through textiles, communication design, and sculpture to photography, print, video and painting. The premise that binds this show is not just one of mutual friendship and support, but also ‘change’, underlining a continuous need to exhibit a breadth of new work to initiate further discussion and dialogue. Each of the emerging practices shown here are constantly evolving and changing to initiate, explore and extend new ideas further, within their area of interest.
