George the Gorilla is the official museum mascot of the Nottingham Natural History Museum at Wollaton Hall, Nottingham. The museum contains an extensive collection of 750,000 natural history objects including fossils, minerals, taxidermy animals, plants, eggs, and insects. Entry is free!

"Is it Real?"

That's what many visitors ask about me and the other taxidermy animals in the Nottingham Natural History Museum.

Today is the Press Launch for our new gallery, 'The Taxidermists' Tale', which seeks to answer that question.

It will open to the public tomorrow alongside a new temporary gallery of microscopic sculptures by Dr Willard Wigan.

Entry to the museum and both new galleries is free.
