Lisa Miller Fine Art

Lisa Miller Fine Art Original paintings and prints https://www.thepaintedhorse.co.uk I have been painting equestrian subjects, mostly with a horse-racing theme, for over 30 years.

A full member of the Society of Equestrian Artists, and winner of the prestigious 'Best in Show' in 2014. I initially trained as a wildlife artist/illustrator in the 1980's and have always been a keen birdwatcher. Although I have painted a handful of wildlife subjects over the years I have plans to pursue this subject in earnest, along with new landscapes and portraits. I will, however, still be available for equestrian commissions.

I've managed a couple of this week - these of the impressive 2000 Guineas winner Bow Echo and the equally impressive Lockinge Stakes winner (and 2024 2000 Guineas winner) Notable Speech. Both paintings are available to buy on my website.

Scandinavia wins for the second time of asking this season in Ireland. Looking forward to him meeting today's Yorkshire Cup winner Rahiebb in the cup races this season, given there was only a neck between them in the St. Leger last year.

Do any of my racing photographer friends have pictures of I Am Maximus? - I'm struggling to find reference for a commission. 😊

1000 Guineas day today when the fillies take centre stage at Newmarket. I'm not sure my two particular favourites will stay the mile but we'll see! (True Love and Venetian Sun).
In the meantime here's a portrait I did eons ago, or so its seems, of the 2004 winner Attraction 😊

It's 2000 Guineas day today at Newmarket.
This is a VERY old commission I did of George Washington (number 7) winning the 2006 renewal. Unfortunately George proved infertile at stud so the decision was made to bring him back into training. Sadly, this saw him break down in the Breeders Cup Classic on a really awful sloppy dirt track and he could not be saved. He left behind him one foal, a daughter, Date with Destiny. She was a winner at 2 and was placed in the Lingfield Oaks Trial at three. She died a couple of years ago, at the age of 16, having produced 10 foals, many of them fillies.
Today her son (and penultimate foal) DISTANT STORM runs in the 2026 race. I would love him to win!
