This week is Volunteers week and we would like to celebrate the vital and important work our volunteers do.

Today we meet Harrison.

He is one of our volunteer fireman, crossing keeper and currently training to be a guard. He also has a keen interest in railway signalling and has been working in the background overhauling token machines for us.

We asked Harrison what he most enjoys about volunteering.

“Since starting at the railway 3 years ago, I have been able to pick up numerous new skills whilst working with an amazing group of volunteers. I can honestly say joining the railway was one of the best choices I’ve ever made”

This week is Volunteers week and we would like to celebrate the vital and important work our volunteers do.

Today we look at the volunteers who dedicate their time with our loco and carriage maintenance.

This is the team who ensure all our trains are well maintained and safe to run. Everything from general servicing to full overhauls, there isn’t much they can’t turn their hand to.
