We have been busy creating some tent pitches. We now have 3 pitches with electric hook up, 2 large grass pitches without hookup but in a perfect location to catch the afternoon and evening sun, and close to the amenities, and we are busy creating more off grid pitches that are more secluded! Watch this space for more pictures!

Today Vicki and I took a little excursion on the Mersea Island to Brightlingsea foot ferry to find out some wonderful ideas to do during your stay. The foot ferry is a 10 minute drive to Cudmore Grove and a 10 minute walk to the ferry pick up point, and takes 10 minutes to cross the water. Our 1st stop was Point Clear where a short walk away was Martello Tower housing a World War museum. It’s free to enter and FULL of interesting artefacts related to the war. We found Alladins Cave, a shop selling all sorts of “toot” from a Del Boy character.
Our 2nd stop was Brightlingsea a 5 minute crossing by the ferry. WOW we had no idea how beautiful and just a great day out with loads to do, it was. We entered a quaint harbour area, with a fish and chip shop, fabulous pub, an ice cream parlour, then found what locals call the wine bar, where we sat outside overlooking what can only be described as a playboys harbour, whilst drinking cold refreshments and eating freshly cooked food, with a live singer/ musician performing. When the kids tore us away, we headed along the coast on foot, past a boating lake (not open sadly) to an amazing Lido which was bursting at the seams. We continued round to an open public, dog free paddling beach. Paddle boarders and swimmers were frolicking just off the blue flag beaches.

After an amazing weekend where our lovely campers hired the inflatables the boys are making the most of playing on them before we take them down! A wonderful weekend of making new friends and happy memories!
