🎨 New art gallery to open on Pembroke High Street
A new creative space is set to open in the heart of Pembroke, bringing art, local makers, community spirit and fresh energy to the town centre.
The Vault Gallery, based at No. 27, Main Street, Pembroke, will officially open its doors with a grand opening event on Saturday 30 May, from 3pm to 8pm.
The new gallery is the sister business of West Gate Gallery and Coffee Shop, based at 1 Westgate Hill, Pembroke, which is now approaching its third year. West Gate has become a well-loved part of Pembroke’s creative scene, combining art, handmade gifts, coffee, food, workshops and local talent in one of the town’s most characterful buildings.
Now, The Vault Gallery will build on that success by creating a dedicated new space on Main Street for artists, makers and the wider community.
The launch is especially positive news for Pembroke High Street. At a time when town centres need fresh ideas, independent businesses and reasons for people to visit, The Vault Gallery will offer something different: a welcoming cultural space where people can browse original artwork, discover locally made items, support Welsh and Pembrokeshire creatives, and enjoy a new reason to spend time in the town. 🛍️✨
The project is also about more than retail. The organisation behind West Gate and The Vault Gallery is not-for-profit, with a focus on supporting local artists and helping neurodiverse adults into work. That purpose will continue through the new gallery, creating opportunities, building confidence, and helping people develop skills in a real working environment.
The Vault Gallery is expected to offer a mix of original art, handmade gifts, creative displays, local makers, exhibitions, and opportunities for artists to showcase their work in a prominent high street location. It will add to Pembroke’s growing independent offer and help strengthen the town’s identity as a place for creativity, heritage and community.
The team behind the project say they are extremely proud of how far things have come. West Gate has been a “hard slog”, but also a real labour of love, and the opening of The Vault Gallery marks an exciting new chapter.
