In March 2009 Ian had a severe stroke which resulted in him losing all use of the right side of his body and also affected his speech. Being right handed the challenges Ian faced were devastating, however he never gave up and overcame his disabilities through exercise. He took a course to be a Gym instructor and passed both his CYQ and CYQ 2 and then used this qualification to volunteer to help ot
her people with disabilities to overcome their barriers through exercise. In November 2011 he went on a cruise and took a watercolour art course. This may not sound that much of an achievement but Ian was always right handed and therefore had to not only learn the art of watercolour painting but also had to learn to paint with his left hand. Ian has always had a love of art and he loves to paint and is producing work of a high standard. As he can now no longer work, he is devoting his time to perfect his skill. These paintings are for sale so that he can hopefully earn a living through his artwork. The prices for the paintings will depend on the size and time taken and will vary from £300- £1,500
There is the opportunity to buy prints of the paintings advertised if the painting isn’t been sold as a limited edition. The prices will vary depending on the size of the print. Ian also takes requests, if there is something you would specifically like painting please send in a request or send a picture and he will paint it for you. All of these paintings are painted in either watercolours or acrylic, you can choose which type of painting you prefer and the size. For this service you will need to send part payment to cover the cost of his materials and final payment on him sending out the finished painting. Progress reports will be sent throughout the process.
