Congratulations to our friends Peggy Guggenheim Collection and their new exhibition 'Peggy Guggenheim in London. The Making of a Collector' 25 April - 19 October 2026 curated by Grazina Subelyte () and Simon Grant ().

This exhibition explores the formative London years (1938–1939) of Peggy Guggenheim, focusing on her first gallery, Guggenheim Jeune, at 30 Cork Street, Mayfair. Though active for only eighteen months, the gallery played a decisive role in shaping Guggenheim’s identity as a major twentieth‑century collector and patron of avant‑garde art.

We at Petersfield Museum and Art Gallery are particularly delighted that Louise Weller our Head of Collections and Exhibitions contributed an essay to the catalogue that covers the five years Peggy Guggenheim lived at Yew Tree Cottage, near Petersfield, which was the subject of our own exciting exhibition 'Peggy Guggenheim: Petersfield to Palazzo' that was held in 2024. You can purchase the catalogue for this past exhibition through our online shop.
