We are thrilled by the response to this solo exhibition for Tuema Pattie, in which we have selected pieces from her art school years in Belfast in the fifties right up to work of the last few months! At 88 she is unstoppable and we salute her energy, her dignity, her accomplishments as an artist who is still hard at work, as she says “ still painting”.

14/04/2026

We were blown away by the amount of people (250!) who came to support Tuëma Pattie for the launch of her solo exhibition “Looking Back, Looking Forwards” and for her 88th birthday tea party!

There’s still time to see her inspiring work: a full range from her first works in Belfast in 1956 to her most recent from 2026.

As Tuëma herself said she’s “still painting!”

What a night that was at Champs Hill celebrating with the culmination of months of work preparing for his gloriously bold and thought -provoking show:
“Confronting Illusion”.

This was the third evening event in 3 weeks in which we have gathered about 350 clients /friends/ followers to the stunning location that Champs Hill is, and the final private view last Thursday was an exuberant floral party hosted to launch their Spring Issue and Botanical Art Fair in May.

It was really fun being involved with the ROSA evening and having the chance to explain what we have learnt about the work of this highly regarded artist and how we sought to portray him and his work in this show. Doing something like this really creates a meaningful bond and the trust and understanding that developed as we grew closer working it all out together. A strong and lasting experience.

The combined forces of Kevis House, Champs Hill and attracted an arty dynamic crowd from across the county.

The exhibition is open Tuesday-Thursday 11-4 for the next 3 weeks £10 tickets on the door as a donation to the Bowerman Charitable Trust, free parking plus free tea and coffee and access to the gardens. Do go and see it if you can!!

A great turnout for the private view of Piers Ottey’s new exhibition ‘Confronting Illusion’.

The Music Room at Champs Hill, Coldwaltham, is a magnificent space to show off these large paintings to their best.

“Whether based on quiet corners of husbanded Down, sun-baked Aegean coastline or iconic views of urban skylines, Ottey’s landscapes reveal a constant fascination with the structure of the view.” says Christopher McHugh “The world, in truth, is not as we think it appears to be, and the work of a painter such as Piers Ottey insistently draws our attention to this conundrum.”

The exhibition will be open between 10 to 26 March, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Tickets are £10 to include tea/coffee/biscuits, with all proceeds going to the Bowerman Charitable Trust.

And - we have a ‘satellite show’ of Piers Ottey’s slightly smaller paintings at the gallery in Petworth. Come and see it from now until 26 March.

Yes, we do post a lot of photos here of the street that the gallery is in.
So it’s good to know it’s not just us who think it’s exceptionally pretty - according to today’s it’s the 8th prettiest in the whole country!
Come and see it, and us, soon.

Phew! What a day, what a week! Thank you all for coming, clients, artists, friends and for your kind wishes and cards that you have given us for Christmas.

The gallery feels quite ransacked, in a good way with the windows changing by the hour. If you are still hoping or hunting for a picture we are open tomorrow, Sunday 21 Dec 11-1.30 and then 11 to 4 on Monday and Tuesday. We will then retreat home for Christmas!

Thank you for your fabulous support this year. We have an exciting Spring programme lined up for you which we will announce after Christmas.

Happy Christmas to you all, with our love, Lucy and Richard

If you have been meaning to come to see Kate Rhodes magical exhibition ‘A Journey of Colour’ there’s still a chance to see it over the next two days - Fri 28 and Sat 29 Nov. We have loved sharing Kate’s work with you all. So vibrant in colour and upbeat reflecting her positive energy and fluid use of paint and other media. Crayon, charcoal, acrylic - literally layers upon layers of expressive marks.

We will be here 10-5 open both days and on Sun 11-3 for collection of sold works (or Tues) and another browse around the building!

Lombard Street is looking festive, and it is the start of their Christmas Enchantment Exhibition with a great double act for their makers’ market. Lots going on here and through the town so as ever there is more one reason to come and explore Petworth!

Nearly ready! Here’s a sneak preview of the hang as we gear up for the opening of Kate Rhodes solo exhibition at Kevis House, Petworth - this Thursday 13 November. PV 6-8 pm by invitation.

Sharing here a few of the 20 paintings that form ‘A Journey of Colour’ glimpses from moments caught abroad and in the Uk, archways, doors, windows, courtyards, rivers, gardens still life’s. The location is less relevant than the feeling she captures as she paints, the sense she gives us of a moment of her time caught on canvas

With thanks for the use of their gorgeous sofa!

We are excited and proud to be showing Kate’s work here. Do come!
