Did you guess our latest round of Plymouth I-Spy?
Well done to many of you for playing along and knowing that this splendid vessel was the PS Waverley. The Waverley is the worlds last going paddle steamer and we were fortunate to have her visit Plymouth recently on her 2026 South West coast sailing programme. 2026 marks 80 years since Waverley was launched on October 2, 1946. With over 80 years of history, Waverley is a living testament to a bygone era.
Watch out for our next round of I-Spy.

Today is the 200th anniversary of one of the most important β€” and least told β€” voyages in British history. Two ships left Plymouth Sound on 22 May 1826. Not on a voyage of discovery. Not looking for treasure. On a mission to make maps. The waters off the southern tip of South America had been sw...
