Porthmadog Woodland Railway

Porthmadog Woodland Railway We are a short but interesting 7 1/4'' gauge railway in Porthmadog built by the late Bob Washington, as part of the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway.

Normally we operate whenever the main railway is running, Rides are included in the railway's tickets.

Farewell to Russell! And farewell to David Curwen (for now!) here are some photos of this weekend on the PWR with Enw and one of our members loco’s ‘David Curwen’ visiting, a grand Easter weekend and farewell gala for the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway / Rheilffordd Ucheldir Cymru, Porthmadog’s Hunslet’Russell’ I hope Everyone who attended enjoyed their time!

Steam up!
Over the weekend of 19th/20th April we will be running resident loco "Enw" and visiting loco "David Curwen".
This is also (19th) Russell's last day in ticket which will be running on the 2ft till late, so there is a chance we will be doing similar as well as other suprises.

September 14/15th. (Possibily in the week prior too.)
For the 60 years of volunteering gala at the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway / Rheilffordd Ucheldir Cymru, Porthmadog we will be having two Romulus (or Romuli?) locos in steam.
Visiting locomotive "Loki" from the NTSR and resident loco "ENW".
These will both be on passenger and goods trains over the weekend subject to availability etc. (This is the same weekend as super power on the WHR for anyone in the area. See the page above for more info on the 60th event.)
