🪸✨ Coral-inspired creativity at Flowerfield!

At the weekend, Natasha Duddy was back at Flowerfield leading a coral-inspired fused glass bowls workshop, and what a beautiful collection of creations!

We love watching Natasha lead a class. She’s so patient and supportive, encouraging everyone to experiment, explore their ideas and let their creativity shine. 💙

Our participants did a fantastic job designing their own unique pieces, and then the kiln worked it's magic 🔥✨

It’s wonderful to see their creative ideas transformed into these stunning finished bowls - scroll to the end to see!!

A big thank you to Natasha and everyone who joined us for a creative weekend!

We loved seeing the clay pumpkin trick-or-treat centrepieces taking shape at our weekend workshop with Fiona Shannon Ceramics. Each one has its own character, and we can’t wait to see how they look after firing!

Hosted by Yarn Ballycastle the most recet session brought together ten participants for a relaxed and absorbing session exploring the colourful craft of needle felting.

With Carolyn guiding them through the process, the group created their own felted pumpkins. 🎃 Some opted for traditional autumnal designs, while others let their imaginations take over, producing a wonderfully whacky collection of pumpkins, each with its own very distinct character.

The pumpkin workshop is the latest in a series of needle-felting session Carolyn has delivered with The Base. Previous workshops have seen participants create needle-felted birds and toadstools, giving the group the chance to build their skills and confidence with the craft while trying something new with each session. 🐦🍄

The workshops form part of Causeway Coast and Glens Borrough Council’s Community Arts programme, which works with local groups and creative practitioners to provide accessible arts experiences within communities across the Borough. 🎨
