About

Alex Fleming, graphite, charcoal and colour pencil artist, b. 1985 and based in Lancashire, England.

I create realistic art for a living, because I like the challenge of it. In trying to do a subject my own kind of justice, it’s very fulfilling when I get it right.

I’m very lucky to be able to walk in rural surroundings almost daily. I make sure I’m armed with a camera to snap any wildlife or livestock when I can’t help but stop and look. However, most of the images I use were taken by professional photographers.

I might alter the odd thing in an artistic rendition, but it’ll be subtle, and rare (if ever). The real and natural world is immensely interesting to me already, so I leave imagined alternatives to those more skilled in and appreciative of them.
