With Bob2 up the steps whilst Mark and Alan fasten the signs around the Welsh workshop, another sign lies on the floor that yet has to be affixed.

A big thank you from Nathan from Splash Designs (Stockport) for designing and sourcing the signs and the Hall family for donating the workshop to the Anson.

Another Welsh workshop artifact.A very apt name but the markings I/4 nut, 5/16 nut and 25-W for the hard of thinking?

Tuesday at the Anson.

In rather sweltering heat conditions Ken and Alan retired to the shade to continue installing and lining up the line shafting that will eventually drive an old well water pump, the pump can be hand driven (Jeeves run me a bath) or belt driven hence the free and the drive pulleys.

Alan brought his rather unusual spirit level to ensure the shafting was level!

Here’s the water pump that will be driven then the Ken and Alan then finally the level they were using.

The green item in the background is a water turbine that has a local connection as it was installed in a big house in Poynton and first to have electric lighting!

The Morgan 3 wheeler club visits the Anson.

On Friday the 15th of May we had a visit from the Morgan 3 wheeler club.

Here’s a walk round and some “banter” with some of the owners, we then see the Morgan’s depart!

Another FB post from the past featuring the Anson!

The chap in the blue starting the Kelvin is Peter who in the past has restored quite a few engines for the Anson at his Worcester residence.

Interesting are Kelvin start on petrol then switch over to diesel for running, quite a few still survive in lighthouses around the UK.

This video must of been taken 10ish years ago.

It's amazing what turns up on FB!

Here's what must of been 10 years ago of one of the first runs of the Peter S2.

There's Don who's sadly no longer with us Val still going strong and myself!

1938 MAN 8 cylinder diesel engine.

A past post mentioned our concern about the lack of lubrication of the gear train that drives the engine lubricating pump.
We did a modification by slightly extending the over flow level of the oil in the casing that contains the gear train, a supply that feeds oil to a bearing in the casing was also found to be restricting the oil supply.

But as you can see from this video there's now plenty of oil "sloshing" around now!

We've also fitted clear covers over the camshaft area so you can see what's going on without you going home slightly lubricated!

We're very sorry but due to the volunteers commitments the Anson this coming May bank holiday will NOT be open the on Monday.

But we'll be open this coming Friday as per normal 1000 to 1600.

Sorry if this disappoints our loyal visitors.

So to try and make up for what you won't be able to see on Monday, here's a video of the big National running.
