Not only have we been doing Prince Edward of Wales 10 year overhaul, we are also giving it a full repaint. I dont think it will be fully finished for the first two little locos days on the 28th June and 5th July. The aim is for it to be fully repainted and looking its best for the one on 20th sept.

There is always jobs to keep us busy even with the trains runing. Gary and Harri have been putting Joan back together today after it was stripped down for the boiler inspector. While at the same time I was working on Prince Edward of Wales, refitting the steam pipes in the smokebox after doing the backhead pipes yesterday.

We took a big step forwards today with Prince Edward of Wales's boiler passing its hydraulic test under the watchfull eyes of our boiler inspector. At the same time Joan, Billie, Railway Queen, and the Cagney passed their cold exams. This is a very fitting day for these locos as it is also 150 years ago today that Henry Greenly was born. He was the great engineer who designed Prince Edward of Wales and then went on to design our bigger locos to replace them. Now its all fingers crossed for them to pass the hot exam later this month ready for our first little locos day on the 28th June and then again on the following sunday July 5th.

We stock all you need to go crabbing in the lake inc bait. Please remember to be kind and gently release the crabs back into the lake when you have finished and please put all rubbish in the bin. You can also buy a memento of how you did, either a Rhyl crab or an I stole your bait seagull.

A busy day at the railway today with lots of full trains. While the trains were running there was still lots of other jobs going on inc us cutting up more firewood. Two more days of steam then our diesel Clara takes over on tues till saturday then it will be Michael on sunday 31st.
