Exhibition COLLECTING ROTHERHAM is now open!🥳

We welcome you to Clifton Park Museum, Rotherham Archives, Boston Castle, five heritage sites across Rotherham and The York and Lancaster Regimental museum. Our extensive displays include famous exhibits such as Nelson the Lion and the breath-taking Rhinoceros Vase, the first ever porcelain vase cast in one piece! The park has a free Watersplash area for children,play areas for toddlers to teens,skate park,quiet memorial gardens,rock garden,tennis courts,bowling greens,allotment style kitchen garden and loads of open greenspace.

We have things that are millions of years old, spooky, and randomly funny!

What do you think you may find in the museum that's spooky? Bones? Skulls?

Let's have a look at the skull here, a badger skull! The furry woodland animal with a black and white stripy face and big claws. They live in holts, a unique tunnel system that badgers build themselves. Recent evidence suggests that early man may have eaten badgers as part of their diet.
Well, no wonder they needed the tunnels.

Come to the museum and see if you can spot something spookier than this! 🎃

Craving some fun during half term? 😆😆 Why not take a break from the screen and enjoy some family fun!

Get hands-on with hardware hacking as we transform old technology into strange and wonderful noise-making machines. Build, tinker and play with creations made from recycled electronics, and invent your own noisy toys along the way!
No apps. No screens. No smart technology. Just wires, magnets, electricity, creativity, and plenty of fun.

Like our current Collecting Rotherham exhibition, our Stuff and Stories programme has been inviting people with connections or information about our collections to share their stories with us.

🍂🦁Nelson’s Cub Club in October🦁🍂

Are you looking for exciting, engaging and educational activities for your babies and toddlers this autumn? During October we will be doing lots of fun things in our dedicated under 5s programme Nelson’s Cub Club at Clifton Park Museum! Here are some dates for your diary:

🐝Wednesday 7th October – Buzz!
🏗️Wednesday 14th October – Build! (Relaxed session)
🎨Wednesday 21st October – Doodle!

Nelson’s Cub Club is part of our family learning programme here at the museum and is aimed at families with children aged five and under. It is always free and includes a small drink and snack per child. Tickets are always free and available on our ticketsource site (see link below or check out the linktree in our bio).

What a lovely, lively day at the Waterloo Kiln! 🥰🥰

Last Saturday, 26 September, we joined forces with FLUX and our community groups to bring the Waterloo Kiln to life! Thank you to everyone who took part in the performances, workshops and festivities. The kiln has never felt so alive since its closure.

Thanks to its unique structure, the music and laughter still seem to echo through the kiln. Although autumn and winter have quietly arrived, the kiln lives on through the wonderful memories we created together that day.

Meanwhile, Clifton Park Museum continues to welcome visitors through its doors, ready to fill everyone with curiosity, stories and inspiration.

Please stay tuned to our social channels for more events and programmes coming this winter.

Great opportunity - Designer Wanted! 📣📣

Rotherham Museums, Arts & Heritage and Flux Rotherham are seeking a designer, illustrator, or digital artist to develop a distinctive visual identity for the 'Palladiums of the North' project.

We are looking for a creative response rooted in Rotherham's social club heritage, reflecting the unique atmosphere, aesthetics, and cultural significance of the borough's working men's clubs and community venues.

The successful designer will create a visual identity that can be used consistently across exhibitions, interpretation, marketing materials, digital platforms and community engagement activities throughout the life of the project.
