What a great weekend we have had, bathed in glorious sunshine (perhaps a little too hot) and in the presence of the magnificent Flying Scotsman.

A big thank you to all our visitors who joined us, be that new or returning, it was great to meet and get chance to talk to many of you.

After eighteen return trips to Loughborough our crews and staff have had a well earned rest but will be refreshed and ready to ride the rails again next weekend for the final running of the Flying Scotsman at Ruddington. Limited tickets available.

As a reminder, Tornado will be operational on Thursday 28th at 13.00 and 15.00 for a ‘pay on the day’ special return to Loughborough.

Did you know Kids Travel for a Quid on our preserved DMU railcar this half term?☀️

If you are joining us during the May half-term on 27th and parking at the Heritage Centre, we kindly ask that you give a £3 donation for parking in the green box located in the car park or at the ticketing office by the telephone box.

To enter and explore the heritage centre is free; you will only need to pay if you are travelling on the train. As we are a volunteer-led and not-for-profit company. This small donation would be given to help us to keep the centre open and running for families, volunteers and enthusiasts alike to enjoy.

🎟️Tickets and more information for the DMU train can be found on our website at www.gcrn.co.uk/event?id=32

The Nottingham Society Of Model And Experimental Engineers Ltd at Ruddington have welcome thousands of passengers while Flying Scotsman has been visited the GCR in Nottinghamshire. They’ve even had some smaller version of mighty LNER locomotives pulling trains.

They’re running every day (except Friday 29th May) so give yourself a treat and make a trip on the railway part of your visit.
