If you've read Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre, take a closer look at this Paula Rego work.

Ask yourself:

Who is vulnerable?
What isn't being said?
What feels familiar from the novel — and what feels completely different?

Come along and vote for your favourite entry before it's too late! We will be awarding prizes for the favourite calendar entry AND favourite under 18 entry. Voting closes on Wednesday 21 October so make sure to pop along and vote whilst there's still chance!

Join Paul of The Guarderobe for this talk about life in Viking Rugby, brought to life through objects and historical reenactment by a fully armed warrior of the period.

Thomssen, a Hersir in Denmark has decided to exercise his right to lead his freemen of the village on a raid to the rich Christian isle of England. The year is 940 AD. England is still divided between Saxon held territory and the Danelaw, but things could be very different in another 20-30 years. Thomssen has then decided to settle with his family in the border of the two kingdoms at Rugby.

PAULA REGO: PRINTMAKER
What was it actually like to work with Paula Rego?

On Thursday 22 October, join artist and academic Paul Coldwell for a unique illustrated talk exploring Rego's extraordinary printmaking practice.
Paul worked with Paula Rego on all her etchings between 1987 and 2006 and continued their friendship until her death in 2022.

He'll explore:
🖨️ How Rego made her prints
🎨 Her changing working methods
📚 Her relationship with graphic traditions
💭 The importance she placed on printmaking
👩‍🎨 What it was like working so closely with Rego
