Tuesday 26th May 2026
Yesterday 2403 was swapped out with DB 993853 Shark Ballast Plough built 1957.
2403 had its wheels swapped on the London End bogie whilst DB993853 was in for maintenance.
Thursday 28th May 2026
Today work was mainly carried out on IWR No.21 example seat upholstery and cleaning picture frames.

Tuesday 19th May 2026
Today 2403 was due to have its London End wheel sets replaced but the rain and winds stopped play. More sanding of the north side and the ends was done in the shelter of the workshop.

Work was carried out on 4115 and 2403 today

Many thanks go to J.Faulkner photographer for the Isle of Wight Steam Railway for sending a group of photos showing the re-wheeling of one set of bogies for 2403 LBSCR 8-COMPARTMENT THIRD built 1903 on Tuesday 12thMay 2026.

I have not added any info to the photo captions as the photos are in order of the time taken.

Tuesday 12th May 2026
I haven`t attended this week but Phil kindly sent me some photos of 2403 undergoing a wheel change.
A few weeks ago four sets of wheels were sent away for new tyres to replace the wheels on 2403 and its wheels will be sent of later.

Not much to report Phil and myself working on 2403
Thursday 7th May 2026
Work being carried out on 4115 and 2403. I continued painting the third buffer for IWR No.21 and Peter worked on the upholstery.

Monday 27th April 2026
With Paul up in Train Story carrying out C exams on the four wheelers it left Phil and myself working on 2403.
Wednesday 29th April 2026
Few more people in today working on 4115 and 2403.

Thursday 23rd April 2026.
In for a few hours today so little to report , work on 2403, 4115 and IWR No.21.

Monday 13th April 2026.
Paul returned from holiday to some defects on some of the carriages. I assisted Phil on a door in 6375 and latter with Geoff we continued the preparation of 2403 for painting.
We had a surprise visit from Terry who was in to finish grinding the welds on the third IWR No. 21 `s buffer .
Tuesday 14th April 2026.
Four volunteers in today Phil and myself working on the south side of 2403 with Steve and Dean working on the north side sanding and fillling.

09/04/2026

Tuesday 7th April 2026.
Phil and myself carried out the laborious work of filling in screw holes and cracks and sanding down on 2403.
Graham was out in the sun carrying out A-exams on two wagons part of the heritage goods stock.
Thursday 9th April 2026.
Filling and sanding on 2403 continued , there was work on 4115 and IWR No. 21 today.
