A 1927 ‘Ryders’ Really Reliable Seeds’ catalogue with the statement: “the most comprehensible seed catalogue in the world.” 🌱 It's a glimpse into St Albans’ history and the legacy of the Ryder name. This is just one of the objects on display in A Growing City - our exhibition on at St Albans Museum + Gallery.

This is exactly what we love to see!💛We had not one, but TWO Roman soldiers at Verulamium Museum today.⚔️

We had a museum visitor named Leonardo come to Verulamium Museum today dressed as a Roman soldier, complete with a handmade shield and sword. Our very own Marcus Servilius Seneca was seriously impressed… and so were we. Thank you, Leonardo, for such a brilliant surprise, you made the day extra special!

Come and explore the museum this May half term - we’d love to see even more Roman soldier costumes!

It’s an ice cream kind of day! 🍦☀️After a wander through Verulamium Park, make a stop at Verulamium Museum and get yourself a Lewis of London ice cream. We’re currently claiming salted caramel as our favourite… but we’re open to being convinced otherwise.

With plenty of flavours to choose from, it’s the perfect cool treat to enjoy in the sunshine.
