Small grants for local artists, community groups and businesses for The International Festival of Glass 2026!

Following a £131K award from the National Heritage Lottery Fund, The World of Glass is developing plans for a new St Helens Heritage Museum — celebrating our town, our people and our world-famous glass industry.

As part of this summer’s International Festival of Glass with The Glass Art Society, we’re offering small grants to local artists, community groups and businesses to help create festival activities and events this August.

We’re looking for creative ideas that bring people together, celebrate local heritage and help make St Helens shine during the festival weekend.

Join us on Saturday 6th June for St Helens Pride Festival!

We’ll have plenty of amazing food trucks, from JJ’s Ices to Pixies Caribbean Food, T&I Planet Pizza, as well as Cottoms pies. There will also be live music and performances, family-friendly activities, and free glass-blowing demonstrations!

Come and celebrate Pride with us between 12pm and 4pm. We promise there’ll be plenty of colour, joy celebrating Pride in our community

On every day this week, little explorers can discover clues around our museum and complete the hunt to earn their very own super sticker!

Our Glass Trail will be available all day, and crafts will be running from 12pm–2:30pm. You can pop in at any point, pay just £2.50 at reception, and get started!

We’re looking for new volunteers ahead of an exciting Summer 2026!

During the August bank holiday weekend The World of Glass will host the international Festival of Glass 2026, alongside four incredible exhibitions featuring glass artwork from around the world. 🌍

Volunteers play a huge part in creating the best possible visitor experience, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

Whether you’re interested in art or history, enjoy meeting people, want to learn new skills, or are looking to support a local charity organisation, there’s a role for you.
