Oceans Apart is a gallery dedicated to contemporary painting and seeks to present and champion the diversity of painting today in relation to current critical debates and discourse. Our intention is to bring previously unseen work to the Salford and Manchester area, create new audiences and provide a platform for artists in the local region.

TURPS MANCHESTER 1-2-1 TUTORIALS

We still have some slots available for the upcoming Turps 1-2-1 Tutorials sessions at Oceans Apart on Tue 24th March. Get them while they’re hot! It’s a fantastic opportunity to speak with a Turps Mentor about your work at our HQ in Salford.

Available slots:
Scott McCracken: 10–11.30am.
Laura Wormell: 12-1.30pm and 2-2.30pm.

Turps 1-2-1 Tutorials are one-off mentoring sessions for a painter to receive feedback on their own work. Each 1-2-1 lasts around 1.5 hours.

We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the upcoming Turps Surgeries and 1-2-1 Tutorials at Oceans Apart. Booking is now open!

Turps Surgery
Monday 23rd March 10.30am–5pm
Laura Wormell + Scott McCracken

Turps 1-2-1 Tutorials
Tuesday 24th March
10am, 12pm, 2pm with Laura Wormell
10am, 12pm, 2pm with Scott McCracken

Turps Live Surgeries are one-day group crits for up to six painters, led by two Turps mentors. Each painter receives around 40 minutes of focused discussion in a supportive group setting.

Turps 1-2-1 Tutorials are one-off mentoring sessions for a painter to receive feedback on their own work. Each 1-2-1 lasts around 1.5 hours.
