Life Drawing Lates return!

Refreshed from our summer break, in this session we’ll be tackling the challenge of drawing using light and shadow. We’ll be experimenting with the lighting in our beautiful Victorian gallery to explore the idea of chiaroscuro or “dark-light”, creating dramatic contrast between light and shadow to add volume and three dimensions to our life drawings.

Wednesday 16th September
6:00pm - 8:00pm

Opening this Saturday!

The Theatrics of Nature, a new show at Salford Museum & Art Gallery by artist Jessica Brodigan, explores parallel spaces and figures as vehicles to explore memory, identity and vulnerability.

Enigmatic figures and ornate creatures inhabit these fluid, psychologically charged landscapes, existing in constant states of transformation. Bodies dissolve into the land, clouds become flesh, water behaves emotionally rather than physically, and forms continuously shift between human, natural and mythical states.

The work will be on display in our Park Gallery from Saturday 29 August 2026 to Sunday 7 February 2027 and will be available to view on weekends and in school holidays!
