The Bluestocking and The Shepherdess: Bloomsbury Life at Ham Spray

Join us and the wonderful Studio Theatre for a fascinating evening performance exploring one of the 20th century's most creative households, as part of our โ€˜Summer of Bloomsburyโ€™ events.

From 1924 to 1960, Dora Carrington and Frances Partridge transformed Ham Spray House โ€“ a modest mid-Victorian farmhouse in the Wiltshire countryside โ€“ into a cultural hub. Writers, painters, sculptors, and filmmakers gathered there, their lives recorded in intimate letters and diaries that reveal a world of Bloomsbury-style creativity, friendship, and unconventional living.

Wednesday, June 3 โ€“ Friday, June 5, 2026, 7pm

Love history? ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Want to be part of something special?
We're urgently seeking volunteers at The Salisbury Museum!

It's the perfect time to join us. We're launching the stunning 'Bloomsbury in Wiltshire' exhibition, welcoming a Constable masterpiece unseen in Salisbury for 60+ years, have opened new galleries celebrating Salisburyโ€™s rich past, and are showcasing our world-class archaeology collection โ€“ including treasures from Stonehenge and the Amesbury Archer. โœจ

Just 2 hours a week โ€“ that's all we need! Help us welcome visitors and share the stories behind our galleries. We need volunteers 7 days a week (weekends especially welcome).

Ready to make a difference? Have a look at the volunteer section on our website for more information: https://salisburymuseum.org.uk/support-us/volunteer-at-salisbury-museum/
