We're delighted to share that we have passed our Accredited assessment!

Museum Accreditation is the benchmark for well-run museums. Being Accredited means that we operate to professional industry standards, care for our collections, make them accessible to audiences and safeguard our history.

Preparing to submit our application has been a key priority over the last year. We are very thankful to the Guildhall and council staff for their support, as well as the Museum & Archive Committee, and of course, the wonderful volunteer team who are vital for keeping the museum open and for caring for our collections!

Our courtroom was in use for just over 400 years, so we’re sure it’s seen a mix of crimes. This week on the Loaves to Legends podcast we’re exploring a trial that was helpfully, completely transcribed. It's not a simple case about stolen pigs (although we do actually have a crime document about that!) Instead, this is much more serious. Come on a journey with us and tell us what you think, murder or manslaughter?
