Another amazing couple of days in Sandwich.
The lighting of the beacon on Friday evening
A grand procession on Saturday and we even managed to open the stern castle of the Nicholas to the public.

A Massive thanks you to all members of the community and reenactors for taking part, all the amazing volunteers who assisted with the marshaling of the parade and to all the civic dignitaries who made the procession one of the biggest the town has seen.

Join us on the Quay Green, Friday evening from 8:30pm for medieval music by Rough Musicke & St Clements Choir plus we will be lighting the beacon.

Then on Saturday at 1pm the grand parade will leave the Quay, wind it's way through the streets of Sandwich passed the Guildhall and back to the Quay via Market Street.

If you are taking part in the parade, please be on the Quay green by 12:30.

We are very excited to be taking part in this very special event for the town and if anyone is able to help on the day it would be amazing.

As part of the celebration for the 800 years of Sandwich Mayor’s, we will be holding a procession through the town starting and ending at the Quay green. If anyone could spare a couple of hours, we would be really grateful for assistance with marshaling.

Well done to our amazing volunteers who completed their pilgrimage from London to Sandwich (over 100 miles) following the Pilgrims Way.
Elizabeth & Janice arrived at the Medieval Centre at 5pm on Friday 10th April. We made sure we had a glass of mead waiting form them.

The centre will be open until about 5:30 this evening as we await the arrival of our pilgrims. Join us for a small glass of mead as we welcome them to Sandwich after a week of walking the pilgrims way from London.
