We’re supporting Drowning Prevention Week with a fun colouring station for children in our venue. Pop in and let the little ones get creative while learning important water safety messages.

We’re also running a World Cup Jersey Colouring Competition! 🎨👕
Complete a jersey design and you’ll be in with a chance of winning a World Cup football! ⚽🏆

It’s a great way to keep the kids entertained while they’re waiting for their siblings during lessons, and we can’t wait to see all their amazing creations! 😊

Water safety starts with knowledge🏊

From 13–20 June 2026, we’re supporting RLSS Drowning Prevention Week, a national campaign helping people learn how to stay safe around water.

Whether you’re at the beach, by rivers and lochs, or at the pool, knowing how to stay safe around water can make all the difference. The campaign encourages families, children and adults to build confidence through simple water safety awareness.

Learning to swim is one of the most valuable life skills, helping build confidence and support safer choices around water.

Great News for Selkirk! We have listened to your feedback, and we are delighted to announce new opening hours at Selkirk Leisure Centre.

The venue is now open on Thursday mornings for the first time ever giving you more flexibility to stay active and support your wellbeing.

Plus, the swimming pool has extended weekend hours, so you can enjoy more time in the water at your own pace. 🏊‍♀️

Come and say hello to the Live Borders Libraries Team this Saturday 13 June at the Borders Book Festival in Melrose!

We will be there hosting two Bookbug sessions at 9.45am and 10.30am and Lego Time at 11.30am.

We will also have one of our Mobile Libraries so come and take a look and see how our library service helps communities across the Scottish Borders. We are much more than books 🙂

The swimming pool at Selkirk leisure centre is currently closed and will reopen tomorrow afternoon at 3:45 PM.
