- Have some fun in the natural play area

Ightham Mote is open 10am-5pm, last entry 4.30pm. House opens 11am. Normal admission applies.

Due to the continuing high temperatures, Ightham Mote will be closing at 2pm tomorrow, Friday 26 June.

Last entry to the site, including the house, garden, café and shop, is 1.30pm. The site, including the car park, will close at 2pm.

It's heating up at Ightham Mote !

We're remaining open for now (10am-5pm), but have cancelled some events and activities. If this affects you, we'll notify you by email, otherwise please keep a check on the emergency notice on the website for further updates.

The café won't be serving hot food until Friday, but we still have sandwiches, snacks, cakes and ice cream as well as hot and cold drinks.

If you're planning on visiting Ightham Mote, please make sure you are prepared and take whatever precautions you need to in the hot weather.

Music at the Mote: Jazz Dynamos | Saturday 29 August

Tickets for this year's outdoor music event at Ightham Mote are now available. Doors open at 6.30pm, so you've got time to browse the shop, pick up a drink or snack from the café, and then settle down on North Lawn for the Jazz Dynamos' first performance to begin at 7.30pm. After a short interval, they'll then perform a second set, with the evening's entertainment finishing at 10pm.

Making their Ightham Mote debut, Jazz Dynamos, featuring Lucy Randell on vocals, take well-known songs from the 70s and 80s and transform them, as you have never heard before, with a mix of jazz, bossa, and samba.

The countdown is on.... one month to go until Summer of Play comes to Ightham Mote!

This summer at Ightham Mote, there'll be space to play and get creative around the garden. Have fun in the natural play area, challenge family and friends to a game of croquet or table tennis, or create your own show in the performance area.

Free event, normal admission applies. Saturday 18 July to Monday 31 August, 10am-5pm (last entry 4.30pm).

Can you help us fill the bookshelves at Ightham Mote?

With the summer holidays fast approaching, we're looking for donations of children's books for the second-hand bookshop at Ightham Mote. If you have books that you would like to donate, please drop them off at the Visitor Centre (open 10am-5pm).

Any money raised in the second-hand bookshop stays at Ightham Mote, so thank you for helping us to look after this very special place.

Come and join us for Father's Day Fun at Ightham Mote!

On Sunday 21 June, from 10am-2pm, there'll be lawn games and hook a duck to have a go at. Challenge the rest of the family to a game of quoits or boule, or see who can hook a duck the quickest.

Westerham Brewery will also be offering tastings of their locally crafted ales, and the café will be selling ploughman's lunches alongside the usual sweet and savoury treats.

Normal admission applies. Ightham Mote open 10am-5pm, last entry 4.30pm.

It's Volunteers' Week, and we're celebrating and saying thank you to all the volunteers at Ightham Mote.

From gardening to maintenance to the shop to visitor welcome and more, each and every one makes a valued contribution.

If you're considering volunteering, why not come along to a free coffee morning at Ightham Mote on Tuesday 9 June? You can chat to some current volunteers and find out what roles are available.

It's the last weekend to catch the Ruby Plants a Radish Trail at Ightham Mote!

Make your way around the garden and discover the delightful story of Ruby as she finds out what happens when she plants some radishes.

Stop by the natural play area for some outdoor fun too!

Ightham Mote open daily, 10am-5pm (last admission 4.30pm). Trail free with normal admission.

Ruby Plants a Radish is written by Kate Petty with Illustrations by Axel Scheffler and is published by Nosy Crow in collaboration with the National Trust.
