Alfred Denny Museum

Alfred Denny Museum Natural history museum at the University of Sheffield, established in 1905. Available for tours on the first Saturday of every month and much more!

The museum was established in 1905 and named after the department's first professor of biology, Alfred Denny. Many of the specimens have been in the museum since the early 1900s when collecting was at its peak. The facility has been in continuous use for teaching undergraduates at the University of Sheffield for more than 100 years and we are now encouraging children from city schools to 'become a scientist' through the Department of Animal and Plant Sciences inspirational outreach program.
