What glorious weather to reopen the Heritage Centre to! We are going to be open again every Sunday from 11am to 2pm from now until November. So if you are new to the village and would like to learn a bit about its history, why not pop in?

We are reopening this Sunday from 11am to 2pm! Drop in and have a look at the books, photos, and items of historical interest related to Shipdham village and the occupation of Shipdham Airfield by the USAF 44th Bomber Group. A warm welcome is guaranteed, but the building may still be a little on the cool side 😉🤣

Sorry for the delay in re-opening this year. We have lost a couple of our regular volunteers and are trying to recruit new ones. So if you would like to be involved, are willing to give up 3 hours one Sunday a month to help us open up the Heritage Centre, please get in touch. You don’t need to know anything about the village or the history of the airfield, everything you’ll need to know is contained in books and artefacts in the centre and you’ll be paired with one of our experienced volunteers.

Today’s Sunday 9th November, is our last open day before we close for the Winter. All the volunteers would like to thank our many visitors and look forward to see you next Spring.

We’re approaching the end of our open season for this year at the Heritage Centre. Our last open day will be Sunday 9th November.
We’ve got plenty of books and jigsaw puzzles available to borrow if you’re looking to keep yourself entertained over our Winter break and lots of resources and artefacts related to the village and the USAF bomber group stationed at Shipdham Airfield during WW2.

Come along and say hello to our friendly volunteers before we close for the Winter.

If you would like a sticker to put on your front door to dissuade cold callers from disturbing you we have a stock of these at the Heritag Centre. Feel free to drop in any Sunday between 11-2 to pick one up.

We’ve had a fresh donation of books at the Heritage Centre, so if you’re into autobiographies, why not come and have a browse. We have plenty of books of all genres free to borrow along with jigsaws and DVDs.
You can brush up on some local history while you’re here and also learn about the role of the USAF at Shipdham Airfield during WW2.

Open every Sunday between 11am-2pm.

Please note that the Heritage Centre will no be open Sunday 24th August as we will be at the Party in the Park event at Bullock Park from 1-6pm. Come and see us there!
