⚓One of the key displays in our Southampton's Titanic Story gallery is our crew wall which shows information about the crew of the Titanic, their name, job role, age and where they lived. Around three quarters of the crew were resident in Southampton before embarking on the Titanic.
🚢Although we do not have photographs of all of our crew, the research continues to identify the faces of Titanic's crew. Once provenance has been confirmed and permissions granted, new cards are gradually made and added to the wall. Today we have been adding a number of new faces to the wall, an ongoing mission to honour those who served and were lost on the Titanic.

Today marks the anniversary of the worst British maritime disaster in history, the sinking of the RMS Lancastria. We are privileged to be hosting a talk by Becky Sharp, whose ancestor tragically died in the sinking in June 1940. This free talk, part of Armed Forces Day, will explore the story in detail and draw upon her own link to this story.
If you would like to find out more and book your free ticket you can do so here: https://southamptonmuseumsandgallery.co.uk/events/rms-lancastria-online-talk/?source=scc

Today it's pretty ☀️🌡️, so make sure you keep hydrated 💦.
💧Did you know that lifeboats on ships like the Titanic and Mauretania carried these lifeboat water dippers which were designed to help ration drinking water aboard a lifeboat.
🚰 Each boat had enough potable water so that each person could have about 1.5l, which had to last for as long as the boat was in trouble.
