This year's annual fundraiser, An Evening with Sir Max Hastings, proved a resounding success, drawing a full auditorium at the impressive Skills & Innovation Centre at NSCG Stafford College, our generous hosts. Guests enjoyed a drinks reception and the opportunity to have a copy of Sir Max’s latest book, Sword, personally dedicated. A compelling talk ensued, offering historical insight into the British Army’s pivotal role in the D-Day landings at Sword Beach, with a particular focus on the Staffordshire Yeomanry. Sir Max also reflected on the life and remarkable leadership of Colonel Jim Eadie, who commanded the regiment with great distinction.

As well as honouring our proud local military heritage, the event also raised vital funding for the Museum’s ongoing work.
