As Springwatch broadcasts live from the remarkable Knepp Estate this fortnight, it feels a fitting moment to celebrate the wildlife and rewilding story that has inspired so many.
Knepp has become one of Britain’s most celebrated rewilding projects, led by Isabella Tree and Charlie Burrell and documented in their influential book ‘The Book of Wilding’. The publication’s striking cover artwork was created by acclaimed wildlife artist, Lucy Boydell.
As one of Gladwell & Patterson’s contemporary artists, we are delighted to currently have a collection of Boydell’s work on display in our Stamford gallery. Among the pieces exhibited are ‘Spring Hare’ and bee study ‘is there honey still for tea…?’, which will also be on display at the upcoming BADA Art & Antiques Fair in Rutland
As Springwatch shines a spotlight on Knepp and the success of rewilding, it is wonderful to see Boydell’s artwork connected to a story that continues to inspire people to look more closely at the natural world around them.
