Fabulous day at The Sergehill Project for Gardening, Creativity and Health set up by Tom Stuart Smith and his wife Sue.

We had a day of painting with Anne Marie Butlin, a wonderful introductory talk on influencing artists, an hour walking around the beautiful gardens and then a painting workshop with Anne Marie, an artist I’ve long admired 🩷

My attempt was a diptych painting of a mixed border of deep purple alliums and orange tulips set against a dark background to make the colours pop.

Thoroughly enjoyed a painting workshop this morning with Deborah James.
As the countryside and woodlands are bursting into colour I decided to do a quick loose painting of bluebells 🩷 💙

Double Tulips with Cow Parsley mixed media painting on wood panel

I’ve been faffing around with this still life for so long 🤨, decided to actually get it finished today for Spring and I think I’m finally happy with it !

Think this will be heading to Sarah Harding Interiors in Uppingham 🩷

A lot of people shy away from yellow, for me it is the real marker of Spring, and particularly Easter.
I love filling the house with all types of narcissi and daffodils , decorating my Easter tree and celebrating Easter with my family.
Here are a few of my favourite daffodil paintings, some available as limited edition prints.

These grey wet days feel endless! Thought I’d start sketching out a new Spring painting of blossom trees and Spring narcissi on wood panel .

I’m very excited to announce that I finally have my NEW studio at home in my garden for 2026!

Overlooking horse paddocks and the rolling countryside of Rutland on the edge of South Luffenham, my studio is bathed in natural light
, with glorious views and I can’t wait to get working in there!!

I will now have suitable premises to run small workshops and showcase my own paintings for sale for clients to view, and will soon be advertising dates for small painting workshops for 4-6 people . On warmer days there is a lovely outdoor decked area to paint.

Happy New Year to my friends, followers and clients !
