Staircase House offers a unique glimpse into the life of mediæval and renaissance Stockport, the origins of the town, its status as a borough and a market town, and the subsequent stages of the House's development until the 1940s, when it was last used as a private dwelling. Absolutely fantastic to welcome Hayfield and District WI to Staircase House today! If you fancy a day out on the bus we are a very short walk from Stockport Interchange!

🚍 Summer Outing to Staircase House with Hayfield & District WI 🚍

It was a real pleasure to join the group visiting Staircase House and Museum in Stockport today!

We were extremely lucky to have our very own guide as WI Member Jean, led the Stockport Council team, which renovated the house as part of the Council's Millennium Project.

We were all bowled over by the careful restoration of the house and the range of rooms and interesting information on display and would recommend a visit to anyone who hasn't been...

As always our WI tries to link our trips out to fit with a local bus route and so this morning we headed off on the 358 😁 🚍

We are really looking forward to welcoming local storyteller Ilaria to Stockport Museum later this month. She's been inspired by some of the heroes of history to create inclusive, interactive and magical stories. The whole family will be enchanted so we encourage young and old to join us.
25th August - 10:30 and 11:30
26th August - 1pm and 2pm

Suitable for all ages, children must be accompanied throughout.
£2 per child / FREE for Leisure Key holders.
