There are a few spots remaining on Cherryburn's next 'Nest' event - The Shorebirds of Long Nanny with National Trust ranger James Porteus.

Drawing on his first-hand experience caring for the Long Nanny reserve at the Northumberland coast, James will share insights into these fascinating shorebirds and the work that helps to protect them.

Set within our museum, this talk offers a chance to learn more about coastal wildlife while surrounded by Bewick’s celebrated engravings of the natural world.

After the talk, enjoy exclusive access to the garden. Relax in a deckchair, listen to birdsong, continue to sketch, or simply unwind with a picnic and meet fellow bird enthusiasts.

Saturday 17th October, 10am start.

In September we'll celebrate with an archaeology talk on Friday 11 September. It's free to join and you'll discover more about Cherryburn through time, including a recent dig to uncover a lost extension to the cottage.
