A new set of wheels for the carriage. We chose a more traditional (for the style of carriage) paint job, before we discovered Queen Victoria's cypher.... I'm now unsure if we should paint the carriage in its Royal Blue livery, or continue with the black and gold/brass colour scheme.
We have permission to restore the cipher.

In starting to remove the old paint work, we have found that the whole carriage was painted in 'Royal Blue', I'd not made the link before.
The crystal cut glass windows, that were thought to have been a much more modern adaptation, show the same Royal blue paint, which proves that they were put in for when the carriage was used on the Royal Estate on the Isle of Wight.
Did Queen Victoria actually use this carriage personally, we will never know, but I like to think she did.
