Time to place some small felted sculptures in my garden.

Made with felted beads, felted cords , beads and driftwood.

I am looking forward to seeing how they age with the wind and rain along with a little sunshine and lots of bugs.

There were lots of interesting mends at Swainby repair cafe yesterday.

Firstly repairing the zip on a windproof cycling jacket. I used the time saving technique of sewing the new zip to the old zip in agreement with the jackets owner. I think if I’d tried to take the old zip out I would have never got the jacket back together properly. 🙊🚴

Reattaching a head to a little girls doll. That’s a first for me. She looks very traumatised but that’s nothing to do with me.

Lastly repairing a puffer jacket which had ripped just above the zipped pocket.

Lots of other mends amongst the sewing team including bags, trousers, a sheet, three bras and two much loved rabbits. It was great event organised by and with great team work by everyone in the sewing team.

Mending a cotton T shirt saves the equivalent of ironing. for 25 hours .

We can help you learn how to mend your clothes , save your favourites to wear another day , and make a step to reducing the impact clothing has on the environment .
