Car pretty much packed, sketching done, and if my nose wasn't so blocked with the cold I might have smelt the burning wood as I did my first wee shift on this 🀣 Leaving it here though, as I need to keep my energy for tomorrow, and the wee man and I need to settle in for a quiet evening. He's just tucked me in under a load of fleece blankets on the couch, and I've found "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" for us to watch! There was some chat yesterday before daddy left about a shrink ray from another programme he was watching....and it jogged our memories. So....that's our pre dinner film sorted while Mumma maybe rests her eyes before dinner πŸ˜‰

Sketching on wood....and think this one is going to be a bit of a challenge! So expecting it to be well in to the weekend to manage to complete burning the design. I have to do this in shifts, because of general busyness the next few days, but also making sure I nurse my hand and don't overdo it. The last few weeks were so stressful that the peace of the garden was a blessing. Plus I was inspired by that beautiful book I treated myself to when I went to Jane Harlington's exhibition in May....and the idea of the "Fragment of Paradise" our gardens can be. So there will be flowers....and hopefully a bumblebee or two, a butterfly, and a tiny ladybird.

Some sketching and planning has taken place this morning....ideas in my head the last couple of days. But it will be a gradual process right now, as yet again, I'm down with a cold (thanks to a child who got a second cold in a month from nursery! 🀣) and I've got stock to organise and display stuff to sort for market tomorrow (some stands got damaged in the back of the van last month).

But....Fr€€ $h1pping is still available, until this coming Sunday, across on the virtual shelves. So why not pop across and take a peek πŸ˜‰

Finally back to market this week! πŸ₯³ been a long break at Torridon due to Celtman the last two weekends anyway, so will be good to be back. And for me it's well over a month since I last got to a market! I may have to be away a little early on Thursday, as there are nursery/school related things I need to be back in Shieldaig for at 3pm. So make sure to catch me before 2pm, as I'll need to start packing up just after that πŸ˜‰

We've had a rather extended break due to Celtman! But this Thursday we will back in Loch Torridon Community Centre for the Torridon Thursday Craft Market, between 10am and 3pm. We do hope you can join us! πŸ˜‰ this week we will be:

Amigo Crafts
Prickly Fish
GP - Photography
Patterns of Light
Highland Beasties
KW Creations
wallace woodwork
Sutherland Horncraft
StΓΈrra Scotland
Jembush Designs & EM Collars
And Beth will be with us, with her custom made bikepacking bags.

We look forward to seeing you all ❀️

The couple of days before hubby heads away again I always go a little quiet πŸ˜‰ just because there is stuff to sort, and things to organise, so I'm generally distracted. This month is far less stressful than last month - thank goodness! He had to go out for a bit this afternoon, and is heading home with a Chinese takeaway, a very rare treat! Think it's about 3 years since the last one, just after we were married, and had an evening trip on The Waverley with the wee man.

It's rained at some point most days for the last month (we had a brief shower this morning too) so the grass is more like a meadow. Filled with buttercups and dandelions, and my flowerbeds really need weeding again. But things are growing well, and there is the ever present sound of buzzing from the bees on the lupins and foxgloves. I'm growing my first ever delphiniums this summer too (blue nile, and pagan purples) and the first buds are getting ready to flower so I'm excited to see how they look.

Tomorrow will be a quiet day, but I'll be back on Wednesday, and will maybe get to some creating then too πŸ˜‰

Well worth a watch! First episode I've watched myself, but throughly enjoyed David covering the history of the area, and the Highland Clearances. But also 56 minutes in you get to see him chatting with Jane at Highland Wildlife Rescue! Highlighting the amazing work they do πŸ’š he was clearly moved by what he saw. Really good watch πŸ˜‰
