A wee while ago we had a visit from the team at a new production company called Another Story. They happened to be in the area and decided to venture up the track to take a look around the gallery. Impressed by what they found, in the spur of the moment, they asked if they could interview Andrew and make a short film there and then about Resipole Studios. The result is a really lovely and personal portrait of the gallery and we're delighted to be able to share it with you.

A 19th-century farm on Loch Sunart, transformed into a haven for contemporary Scottish art. An intimate portrait of Resipole Studios.

We are delighted to have three stunning new bronze sculptures by Cornish born artist Tommy Rowe on display. Pictured is Zawn Gamper, inspired by a dramatic, rocky sea inlet located on the rugged Penwith peninsula.

Tommy Rowe honed his craft whilst working as an assistant to Denis Mitchell and, later, Barbara Hepworth, who were part of the renowned St Ives collective of painters and sculptors. Like these artists, Rowe is inspired by the rugged coastal landscape of his native Cornwall and that of the West Coast of Scotland, where he now lives and works.

You may remember a post from a couple of weeks back, when I was fortunate enough to lead a live Q&A/discussion with artist Gill Tyson as part of the Loch Shiel Festival. Pictured is one of a selection of pieces by the artist which is now on display as part of our Late Spring Show. This piece - Dawn Above Old Poor's House' features the distinctive silhouette of Beinn Resipol, at the foot of which the gallery sits.

We're delighted to be showing five works Kevin Dagg as part of our late spring show.

Dagg is a Scottish artist whose work explores the intersection of the human condition, the digital age, and the preservation of the natural world. After studying at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen, he completed an MA at Edinburgh College of Art, where he subsequently served as a lecturer in Sculpture. Driven by a deep connection to Scotland's ancient woodlands, Dagg often works en plein air, using drawing and painting to express humankind's longing for the wilderness as an antidote to the digital age.
