Alan Kluckow Fine Art officially opened in January 2000 and we mounted our first solo exhibition in April of the same year. Since then we have held regular shows featuring artists represented by the gallery, plus a number of collaborative exhibitions with other selected galleries and organisations.

After 26 years we have decided to close the exhibition space in Sunningdale to concentrate on a more active online presence, as well as mounting exhibitions curated and designed for venues that offer more scope for a wider variety of work.

Alan Kluckow Fine Art in Sunningdale will officially close on the 31st of March and the office will re-locate to: 8 Chertsey Road, Chobham GU24 8NB.

This is our second Equus exhibition showcasing artists’ work inspired by the horse. Horses have appeared in works of art from prehistoric cave paintings to the present day. Around the world, humans have a close relationship with the horse and their power and majesty have been depicted in various art forms through the ages.

From horses in battle; mares and foals in a landscape; sporting art; and portraits of famous racehorses to monumental, iconic sculptures.

Leonardo da Vinci renowned for his anatomical studies of the horse. George Stubbs lyrical style and accuracy, showing the formal stance adopted for equine portraits. Picasso ‘The Boy Leading a Horse’ captures the strength and elegance of the horse in its muted colours and minimalist lines. Lucian Freud had a lifelong fascination with horses which influenced his art and life.
