We loved welcoming so many people to Sharpe’s Pottery Museum as part of Derbyshire Makes in Swadlincote. Across the event, our galleries and spaces were filled with conversation, creativity and the sound of people getting stuck in — from ceramic demonstrations and hands-on making to families trying something new together.

Derbyshire Makes brought together incredible artists and makers who shared their skills, stories and time with visitors throughout the weekend at the end of April. Watching people gather around the artists, immersed in clay and ask questions, have a go, and connect with Derbyshire’s ceramic heritage felt really special.

Events like this are so important to us at Sharpe’s. They help keep Swadlincote’s creative stories alive, celebrate today’s creative community, and give people of all ages the chance to experience making in a welcoming and inspiring space.

Thank you to everyone who visited, supported, demonstrated, created and shared the weekend with us. We’re already looking forward to the next one.
