Get creative together at Sharpe’s Pottery Museum with our fun, hands-on Family Mosaic Making Workshop!

Perfect for all ages, this session invites families to design and craft their very own colourful mosaic artwork to take home.

All materials and tools are provided, just bring your imagination and enthusiasm!

📅 Date: Saturday 24 October
🕒 Time: 11am – 1pm
📍 Location: The Glaze Room at Sharpe’s Pottery Museum, Swadlincote
🎟️ Suitable for: Families and children aged 5+
💰 Cost: From £5 for a small mosaic base, £7.50 for a medium base and £10 for a large base – all other materials provided.

Join us for a fun, hands-on family activity where children and adults alike can explore the wonderful world of clay. Guided by our friendly volunteers, you’ll learn simple techniques to mould, shape, and decorate your very own clay creations inspired by the heritage of Sharpe’s Pottery.

No previous experience needed – just bring your imagination!
Your masterpieces can be taken home the same day (air-dry clay).

Come, play, and get your hands muddy as you discover the joy of clay!

Are you looking to learn a new skill? Join Karen from Shore Things to create art from the fragments of glass and pottery that are washed up on our beaches every day. Join us this autumn in Sharpe's Pottery Glaze Room. The perfect location for an immersive experience with clay.

Ceramic artist Joanna Dawidowska will be here on October 17 with a wonderful hands-on workshop. Crafted in Clay: Wildlife Sculpting.

The focus of the workshop is on gentle guidance, creativity and developing simple scultping techniques. The workshop is suitable for all confidence levels.

We’re excited to welcome back Andy Mason on Saturday 3 October, for a hands-on raku workshop!

Raku is a fast-paced Japanese firing technique where red-hot pots are removed from the kiln and placed into combustible materials. The pottery features beautiful crackle glazes, metallic finishes, with completely unique, unpredictable patterns.

Choose from the times below-
Morning session: 9.00am - 12noon
Afternoon session: 1pm - 4pm
