This coming Sunday is our ‘Farewell to Liassic Small Engines Gala’, starring Liassic, Minas-de-Aller No.2, Marchlyn & Sybil Mary, along with Carol Ann on the Mease Valley Light Railway.

The railway will operate as an end-to-end service, with locomotive changes taking place at Oak Tree Halt. With opportunities for line-side photography featuring Traction Engines, Tractors, and Vintage vehicles!

This will be your last chance to ride behind Liassic before the expiry of its current 10-year boiler certificate!

As well as the excitement on the railway, there will be a large display of cars for ‘Drive it Day’ on Strawberry Park!

Diane’s Diner will serve delicious, fresh-cooked food throughout the day, starting with a Full English Breakfast from 10:00.

Thank you to everyone who attended our The Last-Assic Photo Charter yesterday!

The weather conditions made for some more interesting photos with thunderstorms, rain and sunshine all playing their part throughout the day!

Don't miss your final chance to see Liassic in steam at our Small Engine Gala on 26th April - https://tickets.statfold.com/event-tickets/75879?catID=71062&

Here we see the locomotive in its current unlined out state of re-assembly.

See photo in comments below for the inside of the firebox, showing the fire-brick-lined fire pan!

We go back to October 2012 and recall a very different Oak Tree Halt and Howard (then called Josephine).

Today, we are proudly celebrating International Women’s Day at Statfold Barn Railway, honoring the invaluable contributions of both our female volunteers and staff who play a vital role in keeping Statfold Barn Railway and Statfold Country Park thriving.

They play a vital role across the railway and wider Statfold Narrow Gauge Museum Trust from firing, working signals, keeping everyone fed and watered with tea and cake on busy event weekends, coordinating events and projects, guarding, supporting the Archive team, answering our customer enquiries and dealing with our traders and stalls, leading the Police Cadets group and playing a crucial part in our sales and marketing plan.

Here are some of the incredible women who have made this weekend’s Spectacle of Steam possible - Caroline, Rhianne, Caroline, Jackie, Sue, Emma, Kirsty, Lisa, Theresa, Sarah and Lauren. These are just some of the female volunteers and staff who support Statfold Narrow Gauge Museum Trust in its work.

We appreciate your passion and dedication, as well as the essential role you play in preserving and sharing the story of our collection with all our visitors. Your efforts truly inspire the next generation of volunteers and staff.
