Eilean Iarmain Sporting Activities
Deer Stalking
The Isle of Skye offers some of the most majestic landscapes in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and provides a stunning backdrop to your day’s stalking. We offer stalking opportunities for Red Stags and Hinds on the hill and Roe deer in the woodlands. Fearann Eilean Iarmain’s stag season starts in the last week of September. Management of the deer herd is governed by Fearann Eilean Iarmain’s Deer Management Plan and the selection of beasts by your stalker will accord with our culling policy. We can also offer walked-up woodcock for small groups during the season. Fishing
Fearann Eilean Iarmain boasts some lovely water, providing the angler with an enjoyable day’s sport amidst a wild and beautiful landscape. As well as wild brown trout in the hill lochs spate river systems, Loch Barabhaig also holds the illusive artic char. For those seeking a different quarry there are Sea trout to be found in the small rivers and accessible lochs. Day, week and seasonal fishing permits can be obtained in the estate office located next to the pier at Hotel Eilean Iarmain. Simulated Deer Stalking & Clay Shooting
Simulated stalking is fast becoming a popular outdoor activity. Simulated stalking will give you the closest experience to the real thing without the culling of an animal. Each stalk is not only designed to test your shooting skills but a chance to learn about safe ethical shooting. It’s a fantastic experience for the novice as well as individuals who have some stalking knowledge. This is a one-to-one experience with Fearann Eilean Iarmain’s UK Game keeper of the Year, Scott MacKenzie, and starts with a visit to the range for a few practice shots with a firearm to get you comfortable behind the rifle. Please contact Eilean Iarmain Estate office and our Gamekeeper, Scott Mackenzie, for further information. Tel. 01471 833 266 Email: [email protected]
