Lovely to see our work given a new lease of life!

Back in 2022, when Milton Keynes was awarded city status as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, we created a series of illustrations celebrating the people, places, architecture, public art, green spaces, and robots that make MK so distinctive.

Earlier this year, the drawings by Kathryn Boyt were brought back in new combinations for MK60, the cultural programme celebrating 60 years of Milton Keynes in 2027.

It’s lovely to see work made for one moment in the city’s history being reworked and given a new life as MK celebrates another. Looking forward to further developments over the next few months!

We love experimenting with colour! 🎨

A few colour experiments from the development of an updated brass rubbing trail we designed with St Nicholas Priory St Nicholas Priory back in 2021.

Our fantastic illustrator Kathryn Boyt experimented with different combinations of blue, yellow and green before arriving at the final palette of mustard yellow, teal and coral, which was then carried across the trail, activity sheets and St Nix Kids identity.

Amazing how much a shift in colour can change the whole character of a design!

Ghost signs of Stoke Newington Trail!👻

The Stoke Newington Heritage Mural Project explores the area’s radical and literary past through poetry, heritage and art - bringing hidden histories back into public view.

What began in Autumn 2015 is now growing into a large typographic mural overlooking the William Patten Primary School playground, drawing inspiration from “ghost signs” - those faded Victorian adverts still lingering on brick walls across the neighbourhood.

Alongside the mural, a Ghostsign Trail has been created with White Wall Yellow Door; an illustrated map, drawing activities, and prompts that guide you through the area’s layered visual history.

More public engagement activities are still in the works and will be announced soon.

We loved working with the team at St Nicholas Priory on a refreshed version of their Brass Rubbings Trail ✨

As Exeter’s oldest building—and one of the oldest of its kind in the country—it’s such a special place to explore (and one kids always seem to love).
