To mark the National Year of Reading 2026, our Spring 15 Reads selection is now on display at Thornhill Library 📚
Inspired by our current exhibition, Anderson Borba’s The Unearthed, this spring’s reads explore ideas of metamorphosis, memory, embodiment, recovered things, other ways of being, and the half-seen and half-spoken. Across fiction, poetry and storytelling, this selection continues our commitment to women’s voices, writing from marginalised communities, authors in translation, independent publishers, and world classics.
Swipe to slides 2&3 to listen to an excerpt from Greyling by Jane Yolen, one of our spring selections for younger readers, which we are delighted to have beautifully read by Jean - a Primary 6 pupil at Penpont Primary and a frequent visitor to Cample Line. We think she captures the atmosphere and wonder of the story so brilliantly - thank you Jean! 🙏
Our 15 Reads are selected and described by Dr Jane McArthur, a writer and arts producer based in Dumfries and Galloway.
All of our 2025 and 2026 15 Reads books are available to browse and borrow at Cample Line and through the Dumfries & Galloway Libraries network, meaning they can be requested and loaned from libraries across the region.
