☀️Happy Saturday! ☀️
It's been a busy week, we've had lots of international visitors, locals in for presents, prints and framing, and deliveries arriving with new things!

In amongst the newness are these Kaitness Hoosie cards. Taken from my original linocut designs, these cards have been printed in Scotland on luxe textured watercolor card🤩 and come with brown Kraft envelopes. A wee bit of Caithness to send off to folk for any occasion, birthdays, thank yous, anniversaries, congratulations or just a wee note to say "Hi" 😁.

Were open our usual Saturday hours,10am til 5pm, so pop in for a look! (or just to say "Hi" and blether 😆)

Here biy! It's Caithness artist and (member of the Coo's Tail crew) Deirdre Cameron with an extra large copy of her Morven Migration print!

We had a customer request for the larger size print to fit a wall in their new house, so we were delighted to arrange it for them, and frame it to their requirements. The customers picked a wooden frame which was hand stained in Walnut.

It looks amazing in the larger size and we hope they will love it for years to come, reminding them of Caithness. Deirdre has captured the beautiful changing light and peacefulness of the vast landscape in this gorgeous print. I love the colour palette she has used here.

Lots of new things arriving lately! Inspired by the upcoming Orca Watch week and our latest deliveries, we've set up a sea themed table display.

Our Duncansby Orca and Thurso Harbour Selkie designs have proved popular on wee wooden decorations and velvet cushions, so we've expanded the range!

We've now got gorgeous glossy placemats and coasters, as well as beautiful blank greetings cards. The coasters and placemats are hard wearing, wipeable and sure to create a splash at the table!
Our cards are printed on beautiful textured watercolour card, and suitable for almost any occasion, or just to say hello 👋.
All inspired by our local landscape and wildlife, and made in Scotland. You can take a wee piece of Caithness home with you, or send it to someone special. 💛🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Happy Saturday everyone! Even though the sun appears to have made a quick exit😬, we are keeping things bright around here with a top up of colourful Kaitness Hoosie goodies! 😁

I've not posted about the Hoosie oven gloves which we've added to the kitchen range. They are sustainably made in the UK, machine washable and are sure to brighten up your kitchen everyday!

Day four of is THROWBACK THURSDAY

We're throwing back to 2015-2021 when the Coo's Tail was round ey corner on Olrig Street.
I do miss having a bright coloured shop front, as we aren't allowed to paint the current one😭, but wur new shop has much more space for more lovely things. Lots of fab memories from our time on Olrig Street, where we started and grew the business, and survived two lockdowns!

The old shop is now painted baby pink and is home to Banno's Ice cream. We have been known to pop back round on a sunny day for a cheeky wee cone!😁🍦

Hi I'm Barbara, and I run the Coo's Tail, as well as creating lots of prints, cards, cushions, lampshades and other bits and pieces inspired by the Far North. Also seen with me here is super important team member CordyRoy the shop coo. 🐂

I'm so very lucky to have a fab team to help!
There's Lynne, who has been with me from the very start, we worked together before I got the shop, she keeps me in line and does lots of tidying up after me!

Deirdre started here about 8 years ago, although we've known each other since we were 4! She also creates beautiful artwork of the local landscape and you can find her prints in-store.

Sue is the "newbie" she joined us 2 years ago after moving up to Caithness, she is super helpful and the queen of making tea!

I've added four fun facts about the (human) crew, can you guess which fact belongs to which member of the Coo's Tail crew?! 🤔🙈😁

Oh it's that time of year again...The My Shop life Challenge is here!

Day one is MY SHOP FRONT. So here it is!
We are the Coo's Tail, a gift and homewares shop and gallery, and we offer a picture framing service too!
You can find us at 33 Traill Street, Thurso, our opening hours are 10am-5pm Tuesday to Saturday. We started the Coo's Tail in 2015, in a wee shop round the corner. but have been here in "wur new shop" for over four years now.

We love work from Scottish makers and artists, along with colourful things that make you smile. Our shop windows currently feature artwork from Caithness artists, as well as gifts and homewares from Scottish makers and designers.

We LOVE a Puffin here at the Coo's Tail, they feature on so many things in the shop, including wur Peedie Caithness pin badge and Puffinfest print (pictured). Even pop superstar loves a puffin, and ended up with one of our puffin creations last month in Edinburgh 🤩 (more on that another time...)

If you had your eye on a large limited Puffinfest print, there's only 5 of them left, so don't hang about! But don't panic, the small size print is open edition and will always be available.
