Jean-Nicolas Gérard has been working from his studio in the south of France for over 20 years now, producing loose, lively terre vernissée – the French term for slip-decorated earthenware – and enlivening the local Provençal traditions of slipware pottery.

His pots are shaped and glazed in a way that makes you want to touch them and feel the clay, to feel the weight of what has been dug up from the ground. They are made to celebrate what is grown from that same source too – vegetables, fruit, potted plants and blooming flowers – and to spark excitement at what the natural world can offer us.

The exhibition is still going strong!

A massive thank you to everyone who has popped in almost daily to admire, handle and buy his lovely pots.

Based in Devon, Charlie makes pots for use, believing that well-made, beautiful objects naturally belong in everyday life. The show will be on for a little while longer. Have you come to see it yet?

Thank you to everyone who came along to Sid’s exhibition it has been wonderful to see so many of his creations find new homes.
The show will be closing in a week on Sunday, 17th May so do pop by.

In the words of Sid;
‘Where do I feel most at home?
In our Welsh cottage.
Wandering along untamed shores with Jo and Louis, checking what receding tides have washed up.
Being in Goldmark Gallery, surrounded by boundless enthusiasm and friendship. Connecting with contemporaries and this over half a century younger.’
