Congratulations to Kathryn for 10 Years of Volunteering at Market Hall Museum.
We were delighted to celebrate Kathryn and her incredible ten years of volunteering on Monday at our Volunteer summer get together.

Since the refurbishment of Market Hall Museum in 2017, Kathryn has been a valued part of the team — welcoming visitors, giving tours, running our “Knit and Natter,” group and helping out at events, Kathryn’s enthusiasm and warmth make her a fantastic ambassador for the Museum, always offering a friendly welcome to all.

Thank you, Kathryn, for your dedication and the lasting impact you’ve made — we are so grateful for everything you do. 💛

While cataloguing the Warwick Castle Archive, our archivists and volunteers at the Warwickshire County Record Office discovered just how bustling Warwick was in the 19th century — with thriving shops closely connected to the Earls of Warwick. From grocers like Thacker and Christmas to ironmonger Alex Wylie, and even bakers supplying bread for the Castle’s elephant, the vouchers (bills of sale) bring this lively market town to life.

Join Sue Rigby and Sue Lock to explore these fascinating stories, discover beautifully decorated original vouchers, and learn about the Vouchers Project.

On Monday, we were delighted to welcome our wonderful volunteers to Market Hall Museum for a special thank you event in recognition of their incredible support over the past year.

From researching at the County Record Office, guiding tours, and helping at events, to collections care at the museum stores and gardening at St John’s House — our volunteers play a vital role across every aspect of the Heritage and Culture team’s work.

Guests enjoyed cream teas alongside talks about our exciting new exhibition, 'Warwick Castle Unboxed'.

A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you — we truly couldn’t do it without you! 💛
